THE LAYERED DESIGN
Precipitation tanks, functionally designed to facilitate the efficient settling of solids from liquids, are a critical component of hydrometallurgical plants. These tanks enhance both product purity and metal recovery, while also optimizing the overall process by reducing the operational load on downstream filtration systems. There are two main types of precipitation tanks: batch and continuous. Batch precipitation tanks are engineered to process a defined volume of liquid in discrete cycles. Continuous precipitation tanks, on the other hand, provide a streamlined solution by allowing uninterrupted flow of liquid through the system. This configuration is especially advantageous for high-throughput operations where a constant processing rate is essential.
Proses Makina offers precipitation tanks that are optimally designed to meet target particle size distributions and specific operational parameters. Key factors such as the solid-to-liquid ratio, the pH and temperature conditions required for effective metal precipitation are all carefully considered to maximize process efficiency. Each tank is designed with four distinct zones: inlet, settling, outlet, and sludge zones. The precise engineering and balance of these zones minimize filtration time and contribute to increased product purity.
