Proses Makina PGM Refining System is used to separate platinum, palladium, and rhodium which are the most important metals in terms of major commercial significance from spent catalysts, end of life catalytic converters or metal alloys.  PGMs consist of six chemically similar elements, sometimes further classified into light which are ruthenium (Ru), rhodium (Rh) and palladium (Pd) and heavy iridium (Ir), osmium (Os) and platinum (Pt). They are highly demanded metals because of common use in today’s key technologies which are catalysis, electronics, and fuel cells.

The operation occurs in three steps as smelting, chemical leaching and separation. Recovered metals can obtained in powder, metal or other chemical forms. The system features advanced fume capture and chemical dosing controls to prevent the formation of hazardous gases (NOx). Different reactor options are available as PP, titanium, stainless steel, and static glass, to design facilities tailored to customer needs. Wheel Filter Equipment is used for filtering solid or powder materials in liquid solutions. It features a PP body, four wheels for easy mobility, and a diaphragm pump for absorbing and transferring solutions. The vacuum generator can be equipped with a liquid ring vacuum pump or a centrifugal pump, depending on customer needs. The tank includes a level control pipe and a temperature control thermocouple to maintain a stable water temperature.
